Reflection of PopolVuh

Image
PopolVuh by Allen J. Christenson      When I first read the title "PopolVuh," I had no idea what it was about because I had never heard about it. Reading "PopolVuh," I learned how the Earth was created and how god created humans and animals. It is interesting how humans are essential to the Earth. According to "PopolVuh," t hey wanted to develop strong humans who were not considered weak.  All humans have their own abilities and intelligence to do big things on Earth.  If we think about everything on Earth right now, such as buildings, houses, and all material things, we humans have created everything. What is World Literature? by David Damrosh

When the question "What is World Literature?" came to mind, I thought about many books. But reading "What is World Literature?" by David Damrosh, I have found that world literature also has to do with cultural prestige and regions. With this in mind, we can read a book, articles, or things that relate to literature in various ways, but it can also be a problem if we do not know the language and how it is written because using translation can change the words or cannot make any sense. Also, I found it surprising that they can have an influential conversation with their aristocratic forebears depending on their culture and class of origin . In the world of literature, readers can have a better understanding of different cultures and traditions from other places of the world. According to Damrosh, just a piece of world literature can define the differences between two or more cultures.
