Top Five Memorable Quotes

My Top 5 memorable quotes from some readings👀

1. Popol Vuh by Allen J. Christenson: "Only the expanse of the water, only the tranquil sea lies alone."

I chose this quote because when I read it, I feel at peace. I can only imagine being on the beach listening to the waves of the sea, letting myself be carried away by the sound of the breeze and the birds around the water.

2. The Tale of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu:  "But she had, after all, priority over her rival; the Emperor had loved her devotedly and she had borne him princes."

I chose this quote because it talks about a person's priorities and what she gave and received in exchange for sharing all her love with the emperor.

3. The Seagull by Anton Pavlovich: "You have your health; your father's not rich, but he's not poor. My life is harder than yours."

I chose this quote because it is surprising how people compare their lives to others and are not grateful for what they have. We should not compare our lives with those of others because each person goes through different situations.

4. Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare: "If love be blind, love cannot hit the mark. Now will he sit under a medlar tree and with his mistress were that kind of fruitAs maids call medlars when they laugh alone."

I chose this quote because it talks about love; when love is blind, it is invalid and does not give everything from the heart. Also, when love is natural and pure love, real fruits are born, and both people can feel that intense feeling for each other.

5. Five Years Next Sunday by Idza Luhumyo: " The rain outside is deafening. !en the lights go o". I switch on the torch on my phone. I go to the main door, open it."

I chose this quote because it was impressive to read this part and try to imagine what was happening outside and how the rain fell harder when she cut off every piece of her hair. I like to read stories that make the people who read them use their imagination to get an idea of an image of what happens in each part.
